We Did It!
August 22, 2015
After 3 weeks of delay, on Saturday, August 22, 2015, Lynne Mitchell Foundation was finally able to distribute the much anticipated donation of goods, including back packs, school supplies, classroom tables, chairs, bookshelves, and much, much more, to the students and teachers at Seaview Primary School.
Having received confirmation that the container filled with its donation of goods had finally cleared Customs in Kingston and had arrived at the school late Thursday (August 20th), representatives from the Foundation flew to Montego Bay on Friday afternoon to be at the school early Saturday morning to open the container, account for all the goods, distribute the back packs and school supplies to students for the upcoming school year, and assist the principal, Carol Stephenson, and her teachers and staff, unload the container, organize the donated goods, clean and organize the classrooms and get the school ready for classes to begin in early September.
Mission accomplished. It was a hot day, filled with lots of hard work but plenty of smiles and gratitude which made for an extremely rewarding day! Check out the photos of this fantastic day below.
Thank you to those who donated a back pack and school supplies to the students and who otherwise support our efforts. The Foundation could not fulfill its mission of "Loving Children . . . Changing Lives" without the generosity of its many supporters. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for opening up yours to the needs of these students.
