Lynne Mitchell Foundation actively works to make a positive difference in the lives of underprivileged children in Jamaica, and in particular, the communities around Southfield, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. Southfield, like its surrounding areas, is a small, rural, agricultural community in Southeast St. Elizabeth. It is located about 25 miles from Black River, the capital of St. Elizabeth. To help combat the results of widespread poverty, high unemployment and low government funding of the public schools in these communities, the Foundation currently provides charitable support to Seaview Primary School, the one room school house that has served the children and families in this area since 1959. The Foundation funds programs to better equip Seaview Primary School to meet the needs of its students and assist them to gain access to resources they need to succeed in school and life.
Our Programs

Scholarships
We provide academic scholarships to students graduating from Seaview Primary School that assist them with expenses for high school including school fees, uniforms, books, and transportation expenses.

School Breakfast & Lunch
We fund a School Breakfast & Lunch Program to ensure students have enough to eat and are ready and able to learn.

School Transportation
To combat low school attendance rates, we fund a Transportation Program to assist students with the cost of transportation to and from school.

Building Fund Program
Our Building Fund Program provides funds to assist the school with the upgrading of its infrastructure, in the areas needed most, including roof, windows and door replacements, painting, classroom partitions, renovation of the computer lab, library, and canteen, or other special projects.

Back Packs & School Supplies
Every child deserves to go to school prepared to learn. Each year the Foundation provides back packs filled with school supplies to every student at Seaview Primary School in August, just in time for the new school year. The back packs and school supplies are donated by our supporters.
